Gibraltar increases monkeypox cases to six and asks UK for more vaccines

Health authorities of Gibraltar To date, six cases of monkeypox have been detected, nearly all of whom have fully recovered, according to a statement from Rock’s director of Public Health, Dr. Helen Carter, to GBC.

Gibraltar confirmed its first case of monkeypox on June 1. These are foreign nationals living in Spain who working in gibraltar and went to the hospital with symptoms. After being evaluated and diagnosed, it is isolated according to the established medical protocol for this disease.

On July 14, the European Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) and the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that there had been four case of monkey pox in Gibraltar.

Spain, with 3,151 confirmed cases, is the country in the world with the most cases of monkeypox, according to statistics that the World Health Organization (WHO) has started updating daily, after declaring an international emergency for the disease on July 23.
