The first day of Q-School preliminaries in the PDC was played on Monday. Q-School is spread across two locations: Europe and the UK. On the first day the Dutch darts players did not achieve any success.

‘Phase One’ lasts for three days. The eight best darts players each day progress to the final phase. In addition to these 24 places, darts players can also qualify for the rankings Final round. They earn one point towards ranking for each win. The 83 best darts players in Europe and the 77 best players in England qualified for the final phase.

There was no Dutch success

No Dutchmen made the top eight at Q-School Europe, but Jeffrey Bekema and Gilbert van der Meijden made it to the top sixteen. They earned four points for the ranking and were on their way to a place in the ‘Final Stage’. Ron Meulenkamp, ​​​​Ryan de Vreede, Jeroen Mioch and Hendrie van Berkel took three points and are therefore in good form.

Jelle Klaasen picked up just one point on Monday and is therefore 66th. Noa-Lynn van Leuven, who participated in last year’s Women’s World Matchplay, also collected a point. So they still have to work in the next few days. Dutchman Jeffrey de Graaf, who reached the third round of the World Cup, immediately lost and therefore has not yet earned a single point.

Sherrock

In the UK, a lot of attention is on Fallon Sherrock. In 2019, she became the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Cup. Sherrock lost to Kai Fan Leung, but gained two points for the ranking and is now ranked 50th. 3-time world champion John Part picked up one point, but it is not enough to reach the final phase for now.

Final round

Darts players have another chance to qualify for the tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday Final round put. The final phase lasts from Thursday to Sunday. All tour tickets are distributed there. In Europe, 17 players received tour cards and in England there were 13 players. The distribution is based on the number of participants. With the tour card, players can participate in professional tournaments.
