BAM ends multi-year partnership with Valcon

Construction group BAM has signed a framework agreement with Valcon. With this collaboration, the two organizations will collaborate more intensively in the field of operational management through intelligent use of data and technology solutions.

BAM and Valcon have worked together for many years, especially in the Netherlands. As part of BAM’s journey to transform into a data-driven organization, it has now been decided to continue the collaboration with a multi-year framework agreement.

Valcon, among other things, will help further digitize BAM processes in the fields of data and technology. And more than ever, Valcon will also support BAM’s activities in the UK and Ireland.

“BAM and Valcon share the same values and principles,” said Eelco Simon, who was involved in the agreement on behalf of Valcon. “We have greatly enjoyed previous collaborations and we are confident that a long-term agreement will add value to both organizations.”

“We have really enjoyed working with BAM in recent years. It is exciting that we can now consolidate and expand that collaboration. Valcon colleagues truly feel part of the BAM team. They helped build BAM’s data and IT roadmap.”

Simon views this partnership as an important step for Valcon in the construction sector. “We strive for long-term relationships with our customers. It’s great to see that BAM has the same ambitions as us; this partnership provides value for both of us.”

BAM is also pleased with the framework agreement. “The two companies are a perfect fit,” said executive director Mario Broos. “The company culture is similar and therefore there is a ‘human fit’. We know Valcon as a solutions-oriented company. They come up with new and refreshing solutions. Therefore, we hope that this collaboration will immediately produce additional business value, including in the form of data-based improvement plans.”

IT roadmap

Henry van de Ven, BAM’s executive director of IT (CIO), was closely involved in the realization of the agreement. He sees a real role for Valcon in BAM in the future: “BAM is undergoing a transformation in which digitalization plays a central role. IT is an important factor in digitalization. To achieve this goal, Valcon continues to play an important role for us in preparing our IT ambitions in particular.”

“Valcon brings a lot of knowledge and experience, especially in the fields of data, low-code and hyperautomation. They will support us in implementing IT solutions in areas where Valcon has proven itself as a competent partner.”

For BAM, the agreement with Valcon comes not long after the prestigious contract it won in its own country, where they were appointed as partners for the construction of Schiphol’s newest pier (A-pier).

BAM has had a good six months. In the first six months of this year, the construction group managed to increase its turnover in the Netherlands, UK and Ireland by 2%, to more than €3.3 billion.
