Great Britain is the fourth destination for the Dutch truck

Last year it was driven by a Dutch truck 2.5 million tons goods transported to England. Almost 70 percent of these goods were destined for the South East of England, the East and West Midlands, and London. Go to Scotland 4 percent of all things. To Wales and Northern Ireland 2 each and 1 percent pushed.

More than half of goods transported to the UK consist of agricultural products, foodstuffs and chemicals. About a quarter of agricultural products that reach their destination by road are flowers and plants.

The share of Dutch trucks in road transport to the UK is decreasing

Of all goods transported by road to the UK in 2014, more than a quarter were transported by UK trucks. Dutch trucks carry a lot of space 8 percent of that item. Among foreign carriers, only Polish and Irish vehicles transported more goods to the UK than Dutch vehicles.

However, in 2005 the portion of goods transported by Dutch trucks was (12 percent) bigger than now. Polish trucks started transporting more goods and increased their share significantly. They still had it in 2005 (the year after Poland joined the EU). 4.5 percent share, in 2014 it increased to 17.5 percent. Polish trucks are increasingly loading goods for the UK in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France.
