Anniversary May 4 2022 Werkhoven – Bunniks Nieuws

History

WORK Preceded by a silent march from the entrance in Laan at Beverweard Castle in Werkhoven, a memorial will be organized by the Régis Deleuze Foundation on Wednesday, 4 May at 8pm. It was 45 years ago this year that Yvonne van den Brink found the Régis memorial stone and went in search of the story of the 22-year-old French aviator who died on February 25, 1945, and who crashed his plane into Laan Beverweerd’s van. Since then, an impressive death memorial has been erected on the spot.

The program is as follows:

19.30: gather at De Laan gate
7:45pm: Silent tour of the monument
19:58: Final Post
8 p.m.: Two minutes of silence
20:02: Flying Museum Seppe Fly Pass
8:05 p.m.: The national anthems of the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom
20:08: Laying out wreaths and flowers
8:15 p.m.: speech
8.25pm: event ends

,,If the weather conditions do not permit, the Fly Pass cannot be made. It’s possible that we’ll only get this before the alert. For those present in wheelchairs: You may use the available space in front. There are also seats available if you can’t stand it too long! Ask the organization for more information”, says Yvonne van den Brink, chairman of the Régis Deleuze Foundation.

Everyone is welcome to attend this commemoration. Please note: If you are arriving by car, please park your car as much as possible on the side of the road and not in the courtyard of Kasteel Beverweerd. Please also ensure that the roads are kept clean as much as possible. There is a lot of (bike) traffic on this road and of course we shouldn’t get in the way. Follow the directions of our traffic officers.
