Stone Foundation for a concert in the Netherlands

Stone Foundation comes to the Netherlands. The band will celebrate their successful 25th anniversary during the upcoming tour, as well as with the release of ‘Standing In The Light’, which will be released on June 30, 2023 via 100 Percent Records. ‘Standing In The Light’ will feature the band’s best songs from that quarter of a century, as well as other songs from their ten studio albums. The band also updated the story with the addition of two new songs. With this collection the band hopes to continue their rich success story. Their last four albums have all reached the top 40 in the UK (Album Chart) and top 10 in the UK (Independent Chart & Vinyl Chart), including of course 2022’s ‘Outside Looking In’.

The release will be preceded by the release of the single ‘B What UR’ and the album will be followed by the release of another single with ‘Summer Feeling’ which will be released on March 27 in digital and 7” formats. The band were big supporters of the 7” format and had a string of #1 hits on the Vinyl Singles Chart, making them one of the most successful acts on that chart in the 1910s in their native England.

Over the years the band regularly collaborated with Paul Weller, who sang on a number of their songs. He has collaborated with them frequently over the past decade, both on the Stone Foundation catalog and on his solo work. ‘Standing In The Light’ also has an impressive list of British collaborators (Paul Weller, but also Mick Talbot, Dr. Robert, Graham Parker and many more) as well as the best American soul voices (Durand Jones, Melba Moore, Bettye LaVette, William Bell, Nolan Porter & others).

‘Standing In The Light’ is a huge step forward for this ever-evolving band. In recent years, the van has performed at Glastonbury and sold-out headline shows at Shepherd’s Bush Empire and the Electric Ballroom in London. Stone Foundation has also performed with Madness, The Specials, Jamiroquai, Mavis Staples and Paul Weller. Stone Foundation may have ten studio albums under their belt and 25 years together, but they still feel underdogs. ‘Standing In The Light’ can give them the stage they deserve.

8-piece soul band Stone Foundation is coming to Patronaat Haarlem on September 26th for an exclusive concert in the Netherlands, where we can already announce that The Style Council founder Mick Talbot will be playing.
