Sports News: Train Excelsior Wins, Westlandia Loses

Thursday

Judo – Nanco Krijthe will participate in the European Judo Championships for juniors next month. The 20-year-old Maassluizer will compete in the weight class up to 66 kilograms. The European Championships start on September 7, so Krijthe will have to start soon. There is still a team event on September 10th.

Wednesday

Football – Excelsior Maassluis and Westlandia played another practice match on Tuesday evening. Excelsior played at home against FC Rijnvogels and won 3-2 after the halftime score was 0-1. The goal scorers were Gabri Urbanus, Pieter Langedijk and Ouanis Kellouh. Westlandia lost to Scheveningen at Houtrust: 2-1. Sergi Roeleveld was responsible for Naaldwijk’s only goal.

Tuesday

Football – Westlandia immediately said goodbye to Sem Nijbacker. After two years in the green and white uniform, the defender started his adventure in Denmark. He wants to uphold the contract with Aalborg. “We wish Sem good luck and hope he can pursue his dreams. “Hopefully we can see him at the top of Europe soon,” Westlandia said on social media. Nijbacker previously played football in the Wateringse Velo youth team.

Football – Kirill Slutsky will play football for Sportclub Monster next season. The 27-year-old forward hails from fellow German HVC’10. His old club was relegated to the third division last summer, while Monster were promoted to the second division. Monster sports club previously brought in Youri Riepe from Honselersdijk.

Monday

Tennis – Pieter de Lange won the under-18 Amjoy Cup in Eindhoven on Sunday. 17-year-old Maassluizer is the first Dutch winner in singles at this international tournament. De Lange was too strong for Japan’s Ryo Tabata in the final at 6-1, 6-2.

Karting – Rosanne den Drijver (14) convincingly won the match in Genk on Sunday. With another win, his disappointing start to the season slowly faded into oblivion. “I have now won two races out of the three races I have finished,” said the young Naaldwijkse. The next GK4 race is scheduled for October 1. It will be held at the Mariembourg circuit in southern Belgium.
