Schiphol is satisfied with his summer holiday, although there are still things that need attention

Travelers sometimes have to wait too long at passport control and baggage carousels, the airport said. These are the exciting things “Schiphol continues to work on.” In addition, management continues to make efforts “for quality and stability in the areas of working conditions, environment, living environment and infrastructure”.

According to Schiphol, there is no reason to remain silent, but the airport is very satisfied with the increased security compared to last year.

Passenger numbers
Between Friday, July 7 and Sunday, September 3, the airport welcomed 3.7 million departing passengers. During this period, with an average of 1,339 flight movements per day and a total of 79,000 flights, it was almost as busy as before the coronavirus crisis, although Schiphol – unlike its regional Rotterdam and Eindhoven subsidiaries – has not fully recovered.

For city trips, London, Barcelona and Istanbul are the most popular destinations this summer. In terms of the countries most tourists choose for flying holidays, Spain, the UK and Greece are in the top 3 positions.
