Horseman Arjan Jansen dies – Phryso

On March 1, Arjan Jansen, owner of Stoeterij Kortland from Alblasserdam, died at the age of 46. Arjan is a very famous face in the horse world. Firstly as manager and head of the Stoeterij Broere farm, where he worked for almost 10 years when he took over the company in 2020 and it became Stoeterij Kortland.

From Welsh horses to Frisian horses

Arjan’s love of horses and especially stallion breeding emerged at an early age. As a cub, he cycled through the Drenthe countryside on a Welsh stallion approved for service horses. From Welsh ponies he switched to Frisian horses, where he was involved in inspection preparation, training and breeding for various companies. For many years, Arjan specialized in equine reproductive guidance and followed all developments in this field. Apart from dressage and breeding jumping horses, Arjan is a big fan of Frisian horses and a well-known face at Frisian inspections. Arjan was always there for everyone, was a superior horseman and will be missed by many.
KFPS wishes his family and friends much strength.
