Dickie knows nothing about quitting: ‘Lawyer (75) pictured as Curaçao national coach’

Dick Advocaat has been unemployed for approximately 3 months as a coach, so it’s time for him to return to work. The 75-year-old lawyer is currently a table guest at Veronica Offside, but according to his colleague Jan Boskamp he could start the adventure in Curaçao.

The country sacked national coach Remko Bicentini after a disappointing Gold Cup qualifier. Lawyers would be his replacement, Boskamp knew. ESPN confirmed on Friday afternoon that discussions were ongoing.

The return of 15.0
Advocaat has actually said since 2011 that he was working on his last job as a coach. This also happened after his last job at ADO Den Haag. Still, it seems like he’ll do it at least one more time.

Advocaat has been national coach 7 times previously. He has coached the national teams of the Netherlands (twice), United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Belgium, Russia, Serbia and Iraq.

Boskamp
On Monday Advocaat and Boskamp were on Veronica Offside. The original Feyenoord player already suspected something was up.

“Last week he said to me: ‘It was great fun wasn’t it, in Suriname and Curaçao’. We played football there for the kingdom, but that was maybe 60 years ago. So I thought what was he complaining about? And suddenly he started putting it in me. Then you really know which offer he got. Curaçao of course,” he said when Koffie met Boskamp.
