British Supersport racer Damon Rees died on Friday morning, June 30. The New Zealander was hospitalized two days ago with acute intestinal problems, from which he died on Friday morning.

Sad news from the British Superbike Championship on Friday morning, June 30. 28-year-old Damon Rees died after a short and serious illness.

His wife Talia’s Instagram page shows that Rees was hospitalized two days ago and had to undergo emergency surgery on his intestines. His colon was removed and the New Zealander was then placed in a medically induced coma.

Talia Rees announced that the situation was very serious, unfortunately the bad news was announced on Friday morning that her husband and beloved driver had passed away.

Rees came to the UK from New Zealand in 2020 to race in the British Superbike Championship. He started in the National Superstock 1000 class and then raced in the British Supersport class.
