Tuesday, April 18 opens registration for educational programs in The Hague for the first half of the 2023-2024 school year

The Hague is where political decisions are made, such as how high the minimum wage for youth is or how old you are to vote. During the ProDemos educational program in The Hague, students and students discover how these decisions are made, what are the rules of our democratic constitutional state and how they can affect themselves. Of course, each group will also visit the DPR!

From Tuesday 18 April, 12:00pm, you can register your class for the education program in The Hague for the first half of the 2023 – 2024 school year (August-Dec). From that day on, you can also register your class for guest lessons at the school. In this news you can read more about the opening and important information about our new reservation system.

Two locations

Due to the renovation of the Binnenhof, the Senate and Parliament were moved to temporary locations. Our program has adapted for this and therefore we now use two locations. During their educational program, classes can begin and/or end at our main location on the Hofweg or at our sub-location ProDemos Studios (in New Babylon next to The Hague Central). So pay close attention to your booking at which location you start and end!

DPR registration and identification obligations

On each program, the class visits the House. Registration is required for this visit and – for participants aged 14 and over – identification is required. This gives the House a better idea of who is present in the building at what time. At the latest one week before the visit, the names of the participants and the supervising teacher must be registered correctly with the DPR. You can read how to do this after placing an order on the web dossier ‘Good preparation for politics in The Hague’.

School programs

Starting April 18th, at 12:00pm, you can also register your class for our program at schools throughout the ’23/’24 school year. For example, book a guest lesson about political parties (for secondary and secondary vocational education) or our interactive installation project Citizenship (for secondary vocational education). Or take part in our most extensive program in schools: Parliament in Schools (for secondary and vocational education), where classes discover how laws are made and how they themselves can influence political processes based on laws they make themselves.
