electrician raped more than 100 corpses in a British hospital

David Fuller, nicknamed the ‘morgue monster’, was sentenced to life in prison more than two years ago for carrying out necrophilia with hundreds of corpses at a British hospital. However, on Wednesday 29 November 2023, it was revealed that there was a security error at the health center which allowed the perpetrator to carry out a crime for 15 years.

An independent investigation has determined that year “systemic procedural failure” in a public hospital he allowed an electrician, convicted of murder, to sexually abuse the corpses of women and girls.

David Fuller, 65, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2021, raped the lifeless bodies of more than 100 women and girls in the hospital morgue where he worked for 15 years, without anyone suspecting his actions.

Police blew her cover when they found photos and videos documenting her abuse during a search of her home in England East Sussex while being investigated for his involvement in a double murder case.

During the raid, agents made a discovery 818,051 images and 504 videos of subject abusewho recorded himself committing acts of necrophilia in the hospital morgue where he worked.

According to local media, Fuller beat and strangled two women to death: Wendy Knell25 years old, and Caroline Pierce20, before sexually assaulting both of them in two separate attacks in 1987.

However, he was not arrested until December 3, 2020when new analysis of DNA evidence made it possible to identify relatives in a national database and contact Fuller.

NEW DETAILS OF THE CASE

When the photos and videos were discovered, the British Government ordered an investigation to clarify how Fuller was able to carry out the crimes for so long without arousing suspicion.

This determines that “failures in management, regulation, failure to follow policies, standards and procedurescoupled with a persistent lack of curiosity, contributed to creating an environment in which he was able to commit crimes, and did so for 15 years without ever being suspected or caught.”

The investigation showed that those responsible for running the center had to do just that “Reflect seriously and carefully on your responsibility for weaknesses and shortcomings” identified, as pointed out yesterday by Jonathan Michael, head of the investigation.

According to the investigation, there were missed opportunities to question Fuller’s employment practices, such as him routinely working longer hours than specified in his contract or performing non-required tasks at the morgue.

Michael points out that Fuller “he entered the morgue 444 times in one year and this went unnoticed and not reviewed”.
