Two men have been arrested in the UK on suspicion of dousing a man with a corrosive liquid. The man died as a result of this incident.

A 26-year-old man was seriously injured last week and later died in hospital. This came after he was attacked with ammonia as he opened the door of his home near Newcastle. Two men knocked and doused the victim with the liquid. Then they left.

Local police said they arrested two 32-year-old men suspected of carrying out the attack on Saturday. A 34 year old man and two women aged 37 and 30 years have also been arrested by the police, suspected of being involved in this fact. A total of six people were stopped by British police in this case. A 26-year-old man has now been released.

Earlier this month there were also two attacks with corrosive materials in Brussels. There were injuries, but no fatalities.
