The best value of this session is Melrose Industries PLC (LON:), rose 4.19%, or 6.60 points, to close at 164.30 at the close. follow him Vodafone Group PLC (LON :), which was up 1.22%, or 1.52 points, closed at 126.00, and Severn Trent PLC (LON:), which was up 0.49%, or 14.00 points, ended the session at 2.00.
At the bottom of the index was Carnival PLC (LON :), which fell 9.18%, or 88.40 points, to close at 874.60. J Sainsbury’s PLC (LON:), for its part, was down 5.85%, 13.00 points, and closed at 209.40, while WPP PLC (LON:) lost 4.49%, 41.00 points, to end at 871, 80.
The red beat the green on the London Stock Exchange by 1.334 to 525, with 435 closing flat.
Shares of J Sainsbury PLC (LON:) fell to a 52-week low, dropping 5.85% to 13.00 to settle at 209.40. WPP PLC (LON:) shares fell to a 52-week low, dropping 4.49% to 41.00 to settle at 871.80.
Gold futures for August delivery fell 0.20%, or 3.80, to $1.00 a troy ounce. Among other commodities, crude futures for July delivery fell 0.29%, or 0.36, to settle at $121.75 a barrel, while Brent oil futures for August delivery fell 0.18%, 0.22, to $123. .36 per barrel.
GBP/USD was flat 0.20% to 1.25, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.40% to 0.85.
The dollar index rose 0.49% to 103.05.
