A mysterious pink pigeon surprised everyone when it appeared, surrounded by other “conventional” pigeons, in Manchester, England, since the beginning of September. British police announced their presence on Friday, September 15.
Footage recorded by social media user Myla Nichols shows a pink pigeon near The Rock in Bury shopping center on September 4.
Facebook users have been reporting the existence of this mysterious animal walking the streets of Manchester city center since early September.
On September 15, Bury North Police reported that officers saw a pink pigeon while patrolling the streets.
The sad news: the dye is artificial
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds confirmed that the pigeons were artificially colored, so their pink color was completely unnatural.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals expressed its concern for the welfare of birds as reported in several local media: “If someone deliberately paints a pigeon’s feathers, this is very worrying because it can cause health problems, impacting their health. the ability to fly and makes them more vulnerable to predators.”
