Note: The UK health system puts 7.6 million on a waiting list

The National Health Service is the public health service system in the United Kingdom, equivalent to the IMSS and other free health agencies in Mexico.

On August 10, the official NHS data from England alone reported that the waiting list hit a new record with 7.6 million people waiting to receive treatment.

That exceeds the 7.5 million reached in May.

According to the official position of the NHS, health workers such as dentists or consulting doctors have recently gone on strike action which has disrupted the care system.

To date there are approximately 778,000 hospital appointments that have been postponed and rescheduled.

An estimated 383,000 people have waited more than 52 weeks (a full year) to begin medical treatment.

In addition, there are about 7,177 people who have waited more than 18 months for the June cut-off.

The UK health system is characterized as universal, complete and free, but in recent years it has become the center of political discussion due to its enormous costs, delays due to burnout, financial management and now the recent protests. against privatization.

In Europe it even acquired a certain reputation as a bad system because of its flaws and delays.
