Lula arrives in Great Britain for the coronation of Carlos III

He Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silvaarrived today in this capital to participate tomorrow in the coronation of Charles III as King great Britain.

Sources close to the delegation accompanying him said that Lula, also this Friday, will have a meeting with the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.

The two will discuss trade, technological cooperation and environmental issues. At the moment, the signing of a new bilateral agreement is not expected.

In London, the founder of the Labor Party will also participate tonight in a reception being hosted by the British royal family at Buckingham Palace, the king’s official residence.

Lula spoke on March 6 by phone with Charles III on the pact between the two countries and the climate issue.

«I just spoke on the phone with King Carlos III. We talked about the desire to deepen alliances and discussions between our countries on climate issues and environmental protection,” former union members wrote on the occasion on social networks.

During the conversation they also extended an invitation to Lula to participate in the ordination of the empress, Camilla Parker Bowles, which is scheduled to be held tomorrow at Westminster Abbey in London.

Carlos III automatically became king after the death of her mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022.

Saturday’s event will be presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury, spiritual head of the Anglican Church.

The abbey, which has extensive royal connections, was the site for Elizabeth II’s funeral service and also where Charles III’s son and now heir to the throne, Prince William, married his wife Kate.

For residents, the highlight of the celebrations should only be on May 7: a concert, at Windsor Castle, that brings together British and international music and dance stars.

Charles III is monarch and head of state not only of Great Britain, but of 14 other Commonwealth countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Jamaica.

Journalistic media confirm that the sultan has received a huge wave of support since he succeeded his mother on the throne.
