The Range Rover Electric will produce power comparable to the flagship Range Rover V8, and offer off-road capability thanks to Land Rover’s expert all-wheel drive, which has been in use since the first generation Range Rover in 1970. Field trials have now begun. Development engineers not only focused on tough test conditions, but also wanted to ensure that this would be the quietest and most refined Range Rover, with unique Active Noise Concellation, sound design and high levels of interior comfort.
Design, development and production of the new Range Rover Electric is completely concentrated in the UK, based on the flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA). Production takes place in Solihull, on the same production line as the Mild Hybrid (MHEV) and Electric Hybrid (PHEV) versions of the Range Rover. For the first time, battery packs and electric motors will be manufactured and assembled at JLR’s new Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Center in Wolverhampton. The plant plays a major role in Range Rover’s ambition to operate completely CO2-free by 2039.
Interested parties can immediately register to be put on the waiting list, so they can be the first to place an order for the new Range Rover Electric, even before the official order books open.
