^ “Ford presents Electric SuperVan”.

The drive system, consisting of four electric motors, a liquid-cooled 50 kWh battery and a custom-made control system, has a power of around 2,000 hp. This accelerates the Ford Pro Electric SuperVan from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds. A chassis developed specifically for racing makes the SuperVan suitable for the track. In addition, it uses components from the recently launched E-Transit Custom, the first electric version of Europe’s best-selling commercial vehicle. This technology is equipped with SYNC touch screen technology. On this occasion, the system has been equipped with additional functions to enable the use of the unique Electric SuperVan.

The Ford Pro Electric SuperVan was created in secret. Extreme superbus developed by Ford Performance. The exterior design comes from the Ford Design team in Cologne, while the bus was ultimately built by STARD in Austria, specialists in electric rally and racing technology.

The Ford Pro Electric SuperVan is a unique concept that gives the Ford Design team the freedom to create a wild vehicle that commands attention and reflects its extreme performance. The wheel arches, muscular styling and unique color scheme make the SuperVan the most intense variant designers could come up with on the Transit design. A fully electric drivetrain gives teams a lot of freedom, without the installation and cooling restrictions associated with combustion engines.

Ford Performance and STARD motorsport influences are immediately apparent: the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser wouldn’t look out of place on a race car, while the cutouts and dorsal fins of the radical rear design flow seamlessly into the rear wing. This is necessary to push the Electric SuperVan onto the asphalt for better grip. The racing influence continues under the skin with double wishbone suspension with unequal lengths at each corner. The subframe, suspension and brakes also come from racing.

The construction of this track-ready concept vehicle combines an E-Transit Custom floor structure with a steel space frame and lightweight composite body panels. A custom-built liquid-cooled 50 kWh battery (which can be fully charged in 45 minutes) is mounted in the center for optimal weight distribution and a low center of gravity.

The four electric motors together produce an extraordinary power of 2,000 hp to the four driven wheels. Thanks to this combination, it is possible to catapult from standstill to 100 km/h in two seconds. This makes the Ford Pro Electric SuperVan the fastest and cleanest SuperVan to date.

Further performance improvements thanks to an electronics package that regulates, among other things, traction control, launch control, pit lane speed limiter and regenerative braking system.

Nice detail: The Ford Pro Electric SuperVan is equipped with a ‘tyre cleaning mode’ for the event. This new function brakes one axle completely, while the other axle rotates with high power. This allows the driver to easily create a burnout on the front or rear axle.
