The UK version of Amazon announced on Monday that it will no longer charge shipping fees for deliveries to thirteen European countries, including the Netherlands. The only requirement is that the order is over 25 pounds.
Online store want to is becoming more attractive to European users and thinks this can be achieved by shipping ordered products to the Netherlands and twelve other countries starting Monday without shipping costs. This brings the total number of countries receiving free shipping to seventeen. Delivery is already free in Ireland and the UK. As well as the Netherlands, delivery charges for orders over £25 have also been lifted to Italy, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Luxembourg and San Marino.
Last year, Amazon expanded its services. In addition to books, music, DVDs, and toys, European users of the site can also purchase electronics, baby gear, and clothing, among other things. So far, these orders have been accompanied by shipping costs.
European users using Visa or Mastercard not only benefit from free shipping, but also from Amazon Currency Converter. As the name suggests, it allows the current exchange rate to be applied to the invoice. At the start of this year, Amazon Germany started free shipping to the Netherlands and Belgium, with certain conditions.
