London.- During the National Cat Awards event held in Great Britain it was announced the touching story of Zebby, a cat who dedicates himself every day to helping his owner who is deaf.

Know your story.

Mrs. Moss is a British woman who, due to a health condition, requires special hearing aids to hear. Luckily, in the last few months she hasn’t really needed to wear hearing aids, as her little pet cat is in charge of helping her with everything she needs.

In an interview conducted by the BBC, Moss’ mother stated that her cat was a sweetheart who was always willing to help her with all kinds of household chores.

Some of the activities carried out by Zebby are:

  • Grab a letter or a slipper with his mouth to bring it to the owner’s place.
  • Alerts you when the phone rings.
  • At night, if there was a strange sound, he ran to Mrs. Moss and touched his head to wake him up.

The most incredible thing is that the cat has not received any prior training to be a companion animal. According to media such as Infobae, Sammie Ravenscroft is a specialist who considers Zebby’s behavior “excellent” and that “he must have managed to form a strong bond with his owner.”

What is the National Cat Award?

Known as the “National Cat Prize”, it is an event created by the UK-based animal welfare charity Cats Protection. Held annually, it is meant to celebrate cats and their owners, as well as to recognize feline heroism. In this latest edition, Zebby is one of the 12 finalists.
