UniCredit has announced that Ali Khan will be joining as the group’s information and digital officer. Teodora Petkova became head of the Central and Eastern Europe group. Gianfranco Bisagni, currently head of Central Europe, will become the group’s chief operating officer.

Jingle Pang was succeeded by Khan, who joined UniCredit from PWC where he oversaw their sector’s cloud division as a senior partner. Over the past two years, Pang has built a solid digital foundation and accelerated the bank’s digital transition. He brought the group together and put UniCredit on the right track for a fully digital future.

Pang has decided that now is the ideal time for him to leave UniCredit and find a new job closer to his family, given the accomplishments and the fact that his family lives in the UK and China. To execute the next phase of digital and data transformation, Khan’s understanding of current UniCredit technologies and extensive cloud and data expertise will be critical. For clients worldwide, Khan has effectively implemented and completed some of the biggest changes in the banking, telecommunications and manufacturing industries.

These changes will take effect at the end of the third quarter. In their new role as operations group lead, Bisagni and Khan will work together to drive meaningful collaboration across central departments while strengthening their respective country’s digital and operations teams. This focus on developing collaboration requires a change in the Operations approach. His insight into business needs and his hands-on expertise in operations made him a natural choice to help implement this transition.

This shift would see Bart Schlatmann leave UniCredit. Following Bisagni’s departure, Petkova will take over EE and CE with the assistance of Ivan Vlaho, who will be appointed as Teodora’s deputy in addition to his position as Croatian CEO. Convergence within CEE and between CEE and the rest of the Group will be further accelerated by this organizational change.
