Mexico added 70 new cases and 4 deaths

The Ministry of Health reported that until November 28, 70 new cases of monkeypox were recorded. In total, Mexico has accumulated 3,362 cases.

In terms of deaths, the monkeypox follow-up report reported 4 deaths directly related to the disease, two are not directly related to this cause and five are currently being analyzed.

According to the Institute of Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference (InDRE), positive cases are spread across 32 states, but Mexico City, Jalisco and the State of Mexico make up the majority.

The most commonly reported symptoms are: reddish skin rash, fever; headache, muscle and joint pain; Swollen lymph nodes; general weakness or tiredness that makes it difficult or impossible to perform everyday tasks; shivering and others.

The organization requests a vaccine

although Health Secretary has stated that the smallpox epidemic curve is descending, for organizations, groups and activists, the priority action against this disease should be a declaration of emergency by the Mexican government and immediately begin the process to get a vaccine.

However, despite protests in Health Secretary and the government’s demands for the vaccine, so far the authorities haven’t decided whether to buy it or not, which for Ro translates to homophobic decision.
