Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral will take place on Monday, 19 September
It Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeralwho died on Thursday at the age of 96 in his Scottish castle at Balmoral, will take place on 19 September in Londonas confirmed by the British Royal Family.
The ceremony that the world leaders are expected to attend will be held at 11:00 (12:00 Spanish time) at Westminster Abbey.
After, the funeral procession will travel to Wellington Arch and then to Windsor and St George’s Chapel for the funeralaccording to official records, signed by the Duke of Norfolk, who was in charge of the protocol.
The coffin will be moved by the six guards of Balmoral Castle during the tour which will last about six hours in total.
Next Monday, 12 September, King Charles will travel to Edinburgh to participate in funeral procession between Holyroodhouse and St. Cathedral Egidio from the Scottish capital. The coffin will be decorated with the Scottish Crown.
In this cathedral the body of the late queen will be installed in the chapel which is open to the public. Already on Tuesday you will be transferred to Edinburgh airport where he would be honorably discharged and from there to Northolt Royal Air Force Base.
The coffin will then travel to Buckingham Palace., specially to the Ballroom to act with the king and queen consort. On Wednesday there will be Imperial State Wreath in the coffin and will be carried by artillery car to the Palace of Westminster with the king and other members of the royal family accompanying him on foot.
