Worldwide Friesian Tour Update: 150 days and 28,580 km to go!

Time flies when you’re having fun, and that definitely applies to the Worldwide Friesian Tour 2022. The tour is half way through, today Monday 15th August will be 150ste bugged day. In total, the participants have now covered 11,495 km together, which is almost a third of the total.

Many loyal combinations

Most of the attendees are now regular attendees, said organizer Helen Hilltron Bogren. ‘We receive submissions every day, many participants even measure all their training sessions. We keep in touch with everyone, it’s a lot of fun to do.’ With sixteen countries participating, the Tour is now a truly international event. ‘We get kilometers from Italy and the UK, but also from Canada, New Zealand and South Africa,’ says Helen.

There is work to be done

Despite the impressive number of kilometers and participating countries, much work remains to be done. In 150 days it will be January 14, 2023; Saturday KFPS Stallion Inspection in Leeuwarden, this is the last day of the Tour and then 40,075 km (one round around the world) must be covered to reach the destination. The KFPS office and even some stallion breeding KFPS have contributed, because of course it would be great if we could achieve this achievement as Frisian fans.

How can you participate?

Follow the Worldwide Friesian Tour 2022 Facebook page. Gather your horse friends, riding or driving club, walking club or whoever you want to take and choose the distance you want to cover. Therefore, the minimum distance is 5 km, there is no maximum distance, but consider what you and your horse can handle. Measure trips with an app that tracks distances and posts them along with photos of you and your nice horse and additional info about you on the Facebook page.
