Vivianne Miedema gave the Orange Lionesses some courage in their farewell match against Finland

The Dutch women’s football won 2-0 against Finland in Enschede. It was a farewell game to the 2022 European Football Championship, which will take place in England in July. The goal was scored by Oranje’s top scorer Leeuwinnen Vivianne Miedema.

After half an hour of play it was a hit against Finland. Vivianne Miedema scored goal number 93 in 111 internationals. After dribbling, he put the ball into the far corner.

The 2-0 score came in the 70th minute. Victoria Pelova, who just came on to replace Jill Roord, assisted Vivianne Miedema’s 2nd goal. Check out the goals below in the tweet.

European Championship 2022
The Netherlands lost a friendly match against England at the end of June with 5-1 and then won a World Cup qualifier against Belarus with 3-0.

Finland also participates in the European Championships. In qualifying group E, the Finnish women took 22 points from 8 matches (+22 goal difference). Helmarit therefore a reasonable indicator to see if the Orange have recovered from the British streak. We can safely say: yes. Offensively it’s a bit sparse, defensively it’s more than solid.
