Valcon has kicked off 2023 with over 150 promotions, a record number for a European technology and management consulting firm.
The many promotions are a result of the strong results Valcon delivered in 2022. Last year, the agency grew by double digits and expanded its workforce to more than 1,500 employees. Most of the growth has been through acquisitions – for example, Valcon bought Typeqast in Eastern Europe and added P2 Consulting in the UK to its lineup.
“Our company’s success is based on our people, they are the lifeblood of our organization,” said Geert van den Goor, CEO of Valcon. “The promotion of our consultants, technologists and data experts stems from the strong growth of our organization and is certainly well deserved .”
Most promotions take place in the Netherlands, where 109 professionals are allowed to start the year in higher positions (with higher salaries, of course). 24 promotions were made in the UK, while 17 employees were promoted in Scandinavia. And there are also some promotions in Germany and Eastern Europe (Croatia, Serbia and Romania).
Within Valcon, 70+ colleagues active in the consulting business line were promoted, within the data and technology practice departments 48 and 27 respectively. In addition, nine employees from three divisions joined the partnership.
“Ultimately, we strive to create the happiest consulting community, therefore human resource development is our main focus. We listen to the aspirations of our employees and take the right steps to help them achieve their goals. Recognizing their achievements is very important, so we are delighted to have so many colleagues continue their stories of growth with us.”
The story of Valcon’s growth as an organization goes back to 2019, when Waterland initiated a buy and build strategy with Dutch consultancy First Consulting. The following year, the troop merged with Scandinavian consultancies, after which the group completed a rebranding to Valcon again a year later (2021).
