BEST Transport company Ben Becker is looking for staff, especially drivers and distribution planners, and there is a vacancy for an international transport planner. Jos Spruyt, operations manager at Ben Becker and responsible for planning, transport, customer service and back office, explains why working at Soest’s renowned family and transport business is so exciting:

FREEDOM

“Get into your truck at Ben Becker and feel an indescribable sense of freedom as soon as you close the door. Is the shuttle service in the afternoon or evening Soest to Boom near Antwerp or would you prefer to be a distribution driver during the day and drive all over the Netherlands? Unload your cargo and return with a new load. Just ask our drivers like Leroy van Hekke or Luna Bos. They get into the car every day with a smile.”

CHALLENGE

The job is varied and challenging, Jos explains: “As our employee you have the opportunity to make all kinds of journeys, both long and short, far and near, in the morning, afternoon and evening. In your own car you are the boss of the region You are on your own. With Ben Becker you are truly ‘your own boss’. At our company we focus on several things: our customers and our employees. Additionally, we are a flexible company. We adapt to your availability without fixed obligations .”

FORMER DRIVER

Jos emphasized that people who have been drivers are welcome to answer: “Are you an experienced driver who is retired but can’t drive, someone with a C or CE driver’s license who occasionally wants to hitchhike in addition to your current job, a student who has free time, or even if you only have a B driver’s license and are interested in the driving profession, we have options for you. We even offer the opportunity to obtain Code 95 and ADR certification if you don’t already have one.”

According to Jos, a good training period is arranged for drivers with little or no experience with the help of experienced driver mentors. “Of course this is also an ideal opportunity to earn extra money. Gross hourly wages, depending on experience and age, are between €11.92 and €17.64 (excluding allowances).”

PLANNING IS DESIRED

In addition to drivers, Ben Becker is also looking for distribution planners and international transportation planners. “In addition to training drivers, we have also started training Distribution Planners at the Ben Becker Academy. You will learn to work with our automated planning system to create efficient and executable plans. We provide good training and induction period. The required education level is MBO 3/4+. You will usually work evenings from 15.00 to 00.00 (Monday to Friday), with the possibility of varying shifts in the future.”
