A clinic in the north English gave hundreds of patients a major scare by sending “diagnosis: aggressive lung cancer with metastases” messages instead of their merry Christmas wishes, The Sun newspaper reported on Thursday.
On December 23 at 15:49, these patients Asker Health Centernear town Doncasterthey received a text message on their phone informing them of this diagnosis, asking them to fill out the appropriate form and concluding: “Thank you”.
At 4:11 p.m., another message followed offering a “sincere apology. It was sent to you in error. Our message should be this: We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
The error irritated patients, some of whom posted screenshots of messages they received on the practice’s Facebook group, accompanied by disapproving text.

According to the Sun, Among the recipients of the message is Chris Reed, a 57-year-old father, who is awaiting test results to determine whether he has lung cancer.
Reed told the tabloids that he tried to call the clinic, but the line was busy.
He visited the site and was assured that the test was negative.
The incident comes at a time of tension between the British and their “GP”, the health center of the public system – where they are supposed to be controlled and treated free of charge – but is in fact overwhelmed after years of austerity.
