During this week, parts of the UK will face a heatwave with temperatures reaching 34°C. That is why the authorities have urged people to keep an eye on children and the elderly. Health warning for heat has been reached Level 2 for much of south and central England. The health alert remains at level 1 for the northern part of the country.
Agostinho Sousahead of extreme events and health protection UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA, an abbreviation in English), explains that people should be careful with heat stroke.
“Temperatures are expected to hit 30 degrees Celsius in some parts of the south on Friday and we want everyone to enjoy the heat safely. And so you know good health tips for dealing with the hottest conditions,” Sousa explained.
“During the summer, it is especially important to monitor people who are most vulnerable, such as the elderly and those with heart or lung disease. So be sure to watch for signs of heat exhaustion and follow our simple health tips to beat the heat.”

UK heat health alert service
Hot health alert service working in UK from 1 June to 15 September every year, in collaboration with the UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA). It is designed to help healthcare professionals manage periods of extreme temperatures.
Deputy Head of Meteorology Office of Meteorology, Dan Rudman, said: “Temperatures will continue to rise throughout the week and will be well above average on Friday. That’s when many parts of the south of England tend to exceed 30°C and can even reach 34°C in some places.”
