According to British newspaper The Telegraph, Colchester Hospital in Essex closed its doors to new patients because patients entering the property had a history of travel to Africa, where the strain of the virus is circulating in Uganda.

As of this Thursday, health authorities are examining patients through various studies to rule out various diseases. However, if confirmed, this would be the first Ebola case detected in the UK since 2014.

In a statement, Colchester Hospital announced that the clinical area had been temporarily closed “due to infection control issues”, but that the rest of the facility would continue to operate normally.
