JP Morgan’s Jamie Dimon and Goldman Sachs’ David Solomon will take part in the UK Global Investment Summit on November 27, the government said on Monday, in a bid to attract more global capital to British companies and markets.
Blackstone Chief Executive Stephen Schwarzman is also expected to join Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to be a keynote speaker at the event, which is expected to attract more than 200 of the world’s top business leaders.
“The UK is a major global investment destination, but we must do everything we can to stay at the top,” Foreign Minister Kemi Badenoch said in a statement, noting the “huge opportunity” for small companies in the UK to thrive “with the right appropriate.” global investments and partnerships.”
The Global Investment Summit in the UK, designed to showcase the UK’s emerging technology, life sciences and creative industries, as well as its established financial services and manufacturing sectors, follows on from the first summit earlier this month on the security of artificial intelligence.
Both events reflect the Sunak government’s efforts to attract international investors, many of whom have reduced their positions in British assets after years of economic and political turmoil.
British banks Barclays, HSBC and Lloyds Bank have also been confirmed as key sponsors and partners.
Amanda Blanc, Managing Director of Aviva and Ignacio Galán, Chairman of Iberdrola will also be present.
