Twitter Blue is now available from the Android app platform. Taking a subscription is just as expensive as on iOS.
An annual subscription to Twitter Blue has just become available on iOS. Twitter is now also opening subscriptions for Twitter users with Android devices. Contrary to what one might think at first, Twitter Blue costs the same on Android as it does on iOS.
At first it was suspected that Twitter subscriptions will be slightly more expensive on iOS. This choice will be made with app revenue in mind: social media sites want to earn the same amount from each subscription. However, Apple’s App Store policies make things difficult: Twitter must donate about 30 percent of its revenue to the app store.
Although Elon Musk previously criticized the so-called apple tax, which it later called “tax on the internet”, Google used a similar model. Also on the Play Store, developers have to turn over a portion of app revenue to Google. That in itself is no surprise: Apple and Google offer all kinds of services and tools for developers with their app stores.
Buy Blue Twitter
So if you want to buy Twitter Blue on your phone, you don’t have to pay a fortune because of the operating system on your phone. To make a purchase now, you must first enable a VPN, as this service is currently only available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. With a VPN in one of those countries and 11 dollars (about 10 euros) you can buy yourself Twitter Blue for a month.
An annual subscription is $84 cheaper, but you can’t purchase it through the mobile app. Annual subscriptions are only available from an internet browser. Presumably, Twitter made this choice to send more users to the web. In this way, the platform itself saves more from selling subscriptions. A month of Twitter Blue is also cheaper via the web, costing just 8 dollars (7.40 euros).
