Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker’s health could put the tour in jeopardy The band’s “Ending” for Latin America, after the musician broke a finger and ligament in rehearsal and did not improve.
“Yesterday I was playing drums in practice and I broke my finger so hard I sprained it and tore my ligament,” he wrote from his Twitter account on Feb. 8.
February 27, Barker shared on his social networks a video in which he is observed receiving therapy on his ring finger, while in the publication he includes the legend “Operation tomorrow”, so everything seems to indicate that the result of his surgery would define the band’s touring future.
When does the Blink-182 tour start?
The tour started on March 11. at Imperial GNP in Tijuana and there were rumors the group would cancel its participation in the event, as well as at Lollapalooza in Brazil on March 24 and 26, where it would be replaced by the band Twenty One Pilots.
Blink-182 has presentations during March in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay and Peru, as well as in the United States and Canada from May to June. Furthermore, there are dates scheduled in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Portugal and Spain, among other countries, from September to October, to conclude the tour in February 2024.
The group’s concerts had been “sold out” since their first week on sale, due to the expected reunion of the band who had broken up for several years and returned with their original line-up.
What will happen to the concert in Colombia?
Blink-182 have scheduled their first participation in the band’s history in Colombia at the Estéreo Pícnic in Bogotá on March 23, although the festival has yet to decide on a possible no-show.
Social network users were shocked by this situation and asked the band not to cancel the show, besides, some stated that it was the only group that could replace Blink-182 it would be Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Limp Bizkit.
