Despite the fact that Elon Musk has been constantly delaying them, the Tesla Roadster and Cybertruck are the most searched electric cars in the world. This is evident from data from Google.
The data has been re-analyzed by the UK Rent Taker. It looked at searches from 168 countries and was therefore able to determine which electric cars were most searched for on the internet.
Tesla Roadster
These all seem like cars that don’t exist yet. At least, not in production form. At the top of the list is the Tesla Roadster, which is searched for 711,000 times per month. That’s over 8.5 million searches for the Roadster in a year. That’s remarkable, considering the car has been constantly delayed and little is known about its final specifications. Maybe that’s what makes it so interesting.
Followed by Tesla, which doesn’t exist yet, the Cybertruck. According to the study, the electric pickup’s name is entered 608,000 times in the Google search bar per month. In third place is Apple’s first electric car, which we’re not even sure about yet. The Apple Car is searched for at least 490,000 times a month.
Painful: The Tesla Cybertruck is coming even later
BMW i4
Rent Taker also differentiates between UK and US search results. Tesla’s Cybertruck and Roadster also top the list, but in the UK the BMW i4 rounds out the top 3. In the US, people are searching more for the Chevrolet Silverado. That’s no surprise.
Below you can see the full list of the most searched electric cars. Surprisingly enough, the world community is more curious about the Nissan Ariya than the crazy Rimac Nevera.
