Last year, a new cross-dock center with no less than 30 berths was built at the DLG site in Maasdijk. Fresh produce is delivered here daily and then transported to Great Britain by ferry.
This new cross-dock center was put into use at the end of 2022, but since February 2023 the renovated DLG office building in Maasdijk is also ready. That means we’ve just returned to our trusted location on Transportweg.
Continuous cultivation
“Of course, renovations require a lot of work and while it’s not always easy, we are proud of the result. For example, in the context of sustainability, the roof has been equipped with 1518(!) solar panels and paving stones have been reused. The existing office has been preserved, but has been completely renovated and therefore fully meets current standards in the fields of energy and climate control,” the company said on its website.
DLG employees have now moved into the new office, which has been given a fresh interior in keeping with the DLG colors. Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted by a familiar face. The eagle, which has stood in front of the office building since 1994, still occupies its place at the entrance. You can also see an eagle in the DLG logo, the ‘Veagle’, which emerged from the logos of Visbeen, Post-Kogeko and DailyFresh Logistics during the 2019 merger.
Meanwhile, the offices in Nieuwe-Tonge have also been painted and newly furnished, so the two locations now have the same appearance.
On the way to England
Finally, we are not idle in England either. In February 2022, we moved into a new 30 truck stand in Cranford, which is located right off the A14 motorway. The DLG office itself was recently added and the image is now complete.
At Bury St. Edmunds, another of our base locations with its own offices near the Harwich and Felixstowe ferry terminals, the number of trucks recently increased from 3 to 15. They are used there 7 days a week and sometimes even day and night.
This means you’ll find more and more DLG trucks in the UK and we can better serve our customers. Brexit rules have made transportation between the continent and the UK complicated. We are now well-informed about this and support customers in dealing with all customs-related formalities, so they don’t have to worry about this on their own.”
