In the UK, unions representing medical workers, including nurses and paramedics, reached a tentative agreement on a raise that would restore the purchasing power lost to inflation. Meanwhile, the British government said it had agreed to have “intensive talks” over teacher salaries and class numbers with around 200,000 teachers in England and Wales, who are on a three-day strike this week. .
