How to apply for a UK health worker visa

Interested parties can submit applications via application portalwhere you have to choose the option that suits your case and complete the application form with the required data.

Even though the application process is for a skilled worker visa, the system will ask you to indicate whether it is a visa for a health worker and you should click “Yes”.

Application processing takes approximately three weeks and if your application is approved, you will receive an email with next steps.

Requirements for applying for a UK health worker visa

Applicants must attach to the form a series of original documents with official translations into English, such as:

  • Criminal record certificate, if any.
  • Unique reference number ECCTIS.
  • Sponsorship certificate reference number, provided by the employer.
  • Certificate of completion of a language exam from an authorized provider, demonstrating English proficiency equal to or greater than level B1.
  • Valid passport with blank pages.

You must also submit a letter or employment contract with details of the position, the annual salary offered, the job code of the job offered, the name of the employer and its license number (the latter is on the sponsorship certificate).

Likewise, you must provide documents showing ownership and access to more than £1,270 to cover the initial costs of the stay, such as bank statements. This does not apply if your employer is able to retain you.
