SEOUL, May 12 (Yonhap) — South Korea and Britain on Friday signed a letter of intent to establish a bilateral strategic development partnership, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said.
The letter was signed by Lee Do-hoon and Bang Ki-sun, South Korea’s second deputy foreign minister and first undersecretary of finance, and the British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs for the Indo-Pacific, Anne -Marie Trevelyan, at the Chancellery, in Seoul.
The charter seeks the establishment of a bilateral strategic development partnership in the Indo-Pacific based on the shared values of freedom, democracy, rule of law and human rights.
The two sides also agreed to explore cooperation measures with a focus on digital, climate, environment, public health, collaboration with the private sector and women, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
