Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen has shared an update on his health after being attacked outside a hotel in Florida last month.
In March, the drummer was attacked outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A man hit the 59-year-old drummer, causing him to fall to the ground and injure his head. A woman who tried to help Allen was also attacked.
Now, Allen has taken to Instagram to share a picture of himself smiling with the caption: “Thank you so much for all your love and support over the past month. I’m still recovering and preparing my mind and body for the next Def Leppard tour. I just wanted to say hello and let you know that… There’s going to be a Rock!
Days after the attack, Allen took to Twitter to thank fans for their love and support.
Police arrested 19-year-old Max Edward Hartley in the incident, who was charged with two counts of assault, four counts of criminal misconduct and harassment of an “adult or adult with disabilities”.
As well as making a full recovery from injury, Allen will embark on a world tour with Def Leppard. The show will start on May 22 in the UK and end on August 18 in El Paso, Texas.
