Public life in England was at a standstill for the Queen, except in the pubs

UK amusement parks, gyms, supermarkets, department stores and holiday parks are almost all closed today. Public life in England has been largely halted today in honor of Queen Elizabeth, whose funeral took place today. Many pubs were open so that Britons could gather to mourn their Queen’s death.

Pub owner Octave Kust has heard more and more talk about the Queen since her death. “We now just have to see how it goes from now on,” he told WNL. “He lost so much diplomacy around the world.”

“These are sad times. I am also sad about it”, said a British man in one of the pubs on Good Morning Netherlands. “I’m a huge fan of the royal family.”

Another man spoke of a “dark day”. “It affects all of us. God Save the Queen.

General practitioners also participated

Even the doctor had canceled the appointment out of respect for the Queen. The operation was postponed at the hospital. Doctors and specialists do not accept patients for examination. The fact that waiting times in the NHS healthcare system are sometimes six months is put aside for the time being.

At 10.44 a.m. local time, the coffin containing the royal standards, crown, orb and scepter was brought to Westminster Abbey. King Charles and other members of the royal family walked behind the casket. The state funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m.
