New season of Cruquius Concerts

From November 2023 to March 2024 there will be ten concerts in the Cruquius Concert series at the Kunstfort near Vijfhuizen in Haarlemmermeer. Including the Delta Piano Trio, Camiel Boomsma, Erik Bosgraaf, Daniel Rowland and finally a spectacular performance from Black Pencil.

 

Saturday 11 November 2023, 20.15 – 22.15: Delta Piano Trio

Delta Piano Trio was founded in 2013 in Salzburg (Austria) by three young Dutch musicians: violinist Gerard Spronk, cellist Irene Enzlin and pianist Vera Kooper. Cellist Irene Enzlin will be replaced by Anton Spronk at this concert. In a world of globalization and uniformity, the three stand out for their personal voices, dedication and youthful enthusiasm. Their playing is honest, sincere and passionate and they convincingly unite three personalities into one musical whole. The trio approaches chamber music as a form of communication, a constant exchange of ideas, and a shared path of reflection, discovery, and evolution. With the aim of forging their own path, the Delta Piano Trio has a varied and highly personal repertoire selection, which includes works from the entire piano trio oeuvre.

Saturday 25 November 2023, 20:15 – 21:45: Klára Würtz

Klára Würtz is a beloved pianist, not only in the Netherlands but throughout the world. He has toured extensively and internationally with, among others, the Hungarian Radio children’s choir, the Nord-West Deutsche Philharmonie, and The Boston Symphony Orchestra. He has made numerous recordings for French, American, Hungarian and Dutch radio and television. He is also very active as a chamber musician, being part of the Amsterdam Klaviertrio and forming a duo with cellist Timora Rosler. Klára Würtz has recorded more than 18 CDs. He has lived and worked in Amsterdam since 1996 and is a teacher at the Utrecht Conservatory. Sunday, December 10 2023, 14.00 – 16.00: Shunske Sato and Shuann Chai

In the diversity of his activities – violinist, conductor, chamber musician, soloist and teacher – Shunske Sato reflects his versatile and resourceful nature. The historical insights gained during his performances were crucial to his identity and allowed him to immerse himself in musical performance and communicate with his audience in a dramatic and open manner. Shuann Chai is an active and engaging artist known for her interpretations of a variety of historic and modern pianos. Shuann is known as a Beethoven specialist and Shunske is concertmaster and artistic director of the Dutch Bach Society. At this Sunday afternoon concert they will play a violin sonata Beethoven.

Sunday 7 January 2024, 14.00 – 16.00: Camiel Boomsma

The press and public praised the extraordinarily beautiful voice and unique touch of pianist Camiel Boomsma. His personal and unique way of playing has taken him to many renowned concert halls (including the Concertgebouw, Bayreuth, Venice and London). Camiel always strives for his audience to hear and feel his artistic intent. It is wonderful and inspiring to talk to the audience after the concert and hear about their favorite works, their impressions and experiences. He also often discussed different pianistic interpretations with his mother and friends. His playing has been described as sensitive, expressive and deep. During this Sunday afternoon concert he will play Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in B minor and his works Haydn, Chopin And Schubert.

Saturday 13 January 2024, 20.15 – 22.15: Ruysdael String Quartet

The Ruysdael Quartet is one of the most famous string quartets in the Netherlands (violin Joris van Rijn, violin Emi Ohi Resnick, violin Gijs Kramers, cello Michael Müller). They have played together for a quarter of a century and have received many awards, including Kersjesprijs! The quartet can be heard regularly on the radio and on all Dutch stages. The quartet also plays extensively abroad, with a number of tours in Japan, but also recently at the Brighton Festival in England and Zunfkonzerte in Zurich. During this concert, the Ruysdael Quartet will play string quartets by Beethoven, Bartók and Brahm.

Saturday 20 January 2024, 20.15 – 22.15: Florian Just

Once again at the Cruquius Concerto, renowned baritone and sought-after soloist Florian Just. During this concert he will perform Schubert’s famous song cycles, which created songs of unparalleled beauty winter in hearing. winter by Franz Schubert is a set of 24 poems by Wilhelm Müller for voice and piano. The story seems relatively simple. A young man goes on a journey after rejection. In the 24th song he meets Leiermann, the musician with the hurdy-gurdy, the personification of death. From winter many analyzes have been published. Many commentators place this cycle in a political-social framework. According to almost all commentaries, the winter journey symbolizes man’s search for himself.

Saturday 10 February 2024, 20.15 – 22.15: Viride string quartet

The Viride Quartet has been around since 2017 and is formed by violinists Salomé Bonnema and Nadia ten Kate, violinist Sedna Heitzman and cellist Jurre Koopmans. They met each other at the School for Young Talent at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. They are now studying in a bachelor’s program. The Viride Quartet is one of the most exciting and controversial young quartets of our time. The press and public were enthusiastic about their perfect voices and interactions. The quartet has won prizes at the Princess Christina competition and received a grant from the Kersjes Fund. Due to its success, the Viride Quartet returns to the Cruquius Concerten this season, with quartets by Schubert, van Hemel, Bossman And Tchaikovsky. Concert in collaboration with the National Musical Instrument Fund.

Friday 23 February 2024, 20:15 – 22:15: Erik Bosgraaf and Cordevento

Erik Bosgraaf is considered one of the most virtuoso and adventurous record players in the world. Together with Izhar Elias (guitar) and Alessandro Pianu (harpsichord) he forms the ensemble Cordevento, Italian for ‘strings and air’. In the monarchy Cordevento plays a fascinating program exploring seventeenth-century repertoire from the Spanish region; from the Iberian Peninsula the route leads east and north. For example, the skilled Andrea Falconieri was an exponent of composing in Naples, which at that time was part of Spain. In the Dutch Republic, composers such as Sweelinck and Jacob van Eyck were inspired by Spanish melodies. Spanish bassoonist Bartolomé De Selma y Salaverde worked at court in Innsbruck and had his music published in Venice. In short: you listen to music without limits.

Saturday 9 March 2024, 20:15 – 22:15: Daniel Rowland and Maja Bogdanovic

Dutch-English violinist Daniel Rowland and Serbian-French cellist Maja Bogdanovic join in this special musical collaboration. Since their formation in 2018, they have performed at major festivals across Europe, America and South America, receiving high praise for their passionate, gentle and adventurous performances, colorful and innovative programming, and unmatched less importantly, a sense of mutual involvement and a great sense of community. communication. Sunday 17 March 2024, 14.00 – 16.00 : Black Pencil

Black Pencil is an ensemble with more than a thousand years of musical history as its playing field. The possibilities with this large collection of recorders, pan flutes, violas, accordions and percussion are endless. With reverence and subtlety, the most beautiful music is lifted from its historic place and thus brought into the spotlight freshly. Fantastic end to the season.
