New British Prime Minister Truss has been heavily criticized for NOW’s economic plans

Less than a month ago, Liz Truss was elected Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. But according to Security MPs are already preparing to revolt against him.

UK Treasury Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng recently presented a new package of measures to keep the economy afloat. The plan would mean billions of tax cuts in the UK. But according to critics, it is mainly the very wealthy who benefit from this.

The most controversial move is a plan to remove the top tax bracket. That means that even the richest Britons now have to pay a maximum of 40 rather than 45 percent income tax on their income above 150,000 pounds (about 170,000 euros).

Truss believes the trickle-down economy is the answer. The idea behind it? More money for the rich and for corporations means more money for the entire economy.

Truss previously told BBC that he stands by his plan. He admitted in the interview that he could have given a better explanation earlier.
