Now that Banners debuted in the Top 40 last week, we have the tenth UK debutant of 2020.

We’ve now included a total of 25 British artists on this year’s list. Dua Lipa is certainly the main supplier because now she has managed to enter five hits and can no longer be overtaken as the most successful British artist in 2020. Harry Styles and Lewis Capaldi follow from a decent distance.

Of the 25 British artists, 10 have only entered the charts this year. Last week, Banner was the newest addition. The singer from Liverpool scored an Alarm Disc with his Someone To You and then ended up at number 35 in the Top 40. Someone To You already had a place on his second EP Empires On Fire at the end of 2017. The song reappeared via TikTok and advertisements from providers telecommunication.

Kelvin Jones’ success certainly also has a Dutch touch. The British singer worked with Belgian DJ and producer Lost Frequencies, who then worked again with Dutchman Zonderling. Jones himself has been working for approximately five years and with his first song, Call You Home, he has managed to reach the charts in Austria and Germany. Love To Go, her current success, follows collaborations with Alle Farben and YouNotUs, among others. Kelvin Jones is England’s most successful debutant of 2020.

Celeste was identified by the BBC as one of the biggest new talents of 2020.
