Never step in dog poop again thanks to DNA passport

This might happen to you too. While you are having fun playing, suddenly you step into a thick layer of dog feces. There have been many complaints about this in the town of Reimerswaal. However, owners who don’t immediately clean up their dog’s waste will find it difficult to be caught red-handed. That’s why van Reimerswaal’s SGP political party has a plan. From now on, every dog owner must have a DNA passport created for their dog. DNA is a small packet of information in your body and feces. For example, they determine your eye color, your height, and your body shape. Your DNA is unique: no one has exactly the same package of information as you.

Each dog has its own DNA passport

Is the steaming poop found in a place where it is not allowed? The DNA from the feces can then be compared with the DNA from the dog’s passport. Is that the same? That means a fine of 75 to 100 euros. If this plan is actually implemented, this will be the first time this rule has been implemented in the Netherlands. It already exists in Spain, the UK and the US, and a city in France is also working on it.

Choose next week

Reimerswaal town council will vote on the ancient plans next week. Until then, if you happen to be walking through the lawns of Reimerswaal, pay close attention to where you are walking.
