Netflix may lose a lot of subscribers due to the loss of famous series.
We all know, of course, that Netflix can’t grow forever. Where streaming services once scored well with material from other companies, now all are gradually starting out with their own streaming services. With huge ramifications for Netflix.
Fewer customers
Netflix seemed to have greatly dampened expectations last week. The company expects to post its lowest growth since 2010, worldwide this quarter, as more series disappear.
In the UK, Netflix is missing five popular Disney+ series, including Modern Family and How I met your mother. In the Netherlands, the series is already on the streaming service The Mouse House.
Analysts estimate Netflix could lose up to 750,000 subscribers in the UK as a result of the series’ loss.
Netflix is currently the largest in the country, with 14 million subscribers at the end of last year. Prime Video is number 2 with 12.3 million subscribers and Disney+ third with 4.7 million subscribers.
