Netflix has announced that Best Boys got a fifth season. That is of course fantastic news! However, there is also another side to the coin. The series will also end with a fifth season.

The announcement of the fifth season was made via a special video submitted by Netflix. It also immediately indicated that filming for the final season would begin next summer. It also means that we shouldn’t expect new episodes this year.
There’s been a lot of discussion about whether this is season five or three. That might seem a bit odd, but it’s not. After all, the first season was produced and published by Channel 4. However, it was launched under the name Top Boy: Summerhouse. Since the takeover by Netflix, the series only mentions Best Boys.
