Still made in 2014 31 percent of all Dutch people 12 years old or longer use of the cloud, in subsequent years this use increased to 46 percent in 2017. The percentage of young people using the cloud was three times greater than the percentage of elderly people; the percentage of the population with high education is approximately twice as large as the percentage of the population with low education.
Cloud services are slightly more popular among men than women.

Most favorite photos in the cloud
By far the largest cloud user (90 percent) let’s say they use it for photo storage. The cloud is also frequently used to store text, spreadsheets and presentations, which is six out of ten. Music, videos or films, and e-books or electronic magazines are obviously stored in the cloud less frequently. A small portion of 20 to 30 percent have done this at least once in the last three months.
Cloud use is often free, but sometimes there is a charge, for example for additional storage capacity. Most Dutch people say they use the cloud for free; less than one in five say they pay for cloud services.

The Netherlands is among the top cloud users in Europe
In 2016 it was said 43 percent from 16 to 75 years old The Dutch have been using the cloud in the last three months. This means that the Netherlands, together with Sweden and England, is in the top three in Europe.
In large European countries such as Germany, France and Italy, usage rates are in the same range 20 percent more than half lower. On average in the EU, more than a quarter use the cloud.
