UK SME entrepreneurs will soon have one more financing option: Mollie Capital. Mollie has announced that it has launched an integrated business financial service in the UK.
In countries where Mollie Capital is already offered, SMEs – who have been processing payments through Mollie for more than three months – can apply for financing. In the Netherlands, up to €350,000 can be requested, in Belgium and Germany the financing limit is €250,000 and in the UK it is
£250,000.
Entrepreneurs can apply for financing via the Mollie Dashboard, after which an assessment is carried out from several aspects. One of the most important criteria is transaction history on Mollie.
In total, more than 5,000 SMEs from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands (the country where the service was first launched in 2022) have applied for financing through Mollie – totaling more than €50 million.
“Small and medium-sized businesses often struggle to obtain the financing necessary to compete with large players in the e-commerce sector,” explains Mollie CEO Koen Köppen.
“I’m proud that we can now also make a difference to British companies. This way they can quickly and flexibly obtain the necessary capital, for example to make important investments or prepare for peak seasons,” says Köppen.
